| Steel Dynamics Names Wagler Accounting Vice President |
| FORT WAYNE, INDIANA, May 17, 2005 — Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ: STLD)
has promoted Theresa Wagler to the position of Vice President and
Corporate Controller. Wagler has served in the company’s corporate
accounting and finance area for over six years, managing public
financial reporting requirements, coordinating financing and accounting,
and acting as liaison with lenders, investment bankers, and rating
agencies. Wagler, 34, continues to report to the company’s Chief
Financial Officer.
“This appointment recognizes Theresa’s contribution to Steel Dynamics management team,” said Keith Busse, President and CEO of Steel Dynamics. “Theresa has demonstrated considerable expertise in accounting, finance, and business analysis. As Steel Dynamics has grown and diversified its business model, her knowledge and capabilities have become increasingly helpful to the company.” Prior to this appointment, Wagler served as the company’s Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller. She had previously held positions in auditing and accounting while working for Ernst & Young LLP and National City Bank.
