Steel Dynamics Names Glenn Pushis General Manager of Pittsboro Bar Products Division
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA, January 14, 2003—Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ: STLD) today announced that Glenn Pushis has been named General Manager of its new Pittsboro, Indiana, Bar Products Division. In this capacity, Glenn will have responsibility for retrofitting the recently purchased mill to manufacture merchant bars, merchant shapes and rebar. He will then oversee manufacturing operations there as well as product development and marketing. Glenn will relocate to the Pittsboro mill in the near future.

Keith Busse, President and CEO of Steel Dynamics, stated, “I am pleased to announce that Glenn Pushis has accepted this position to begin building the third major steel manufacturing division within Steel Dynamics. Glenn’s knowledge, technical skills and management experience will serve us well.”

Glenn has served as Manager of Cold Mill operations at SDI’s Flat Roll Division in Butler, Indiana, since 1997. He joined SDI in July 1994 as plant mechanical engineer during construction and commissioning of SDI’s flat-roll mini-mill. Glenn has fifteen years of experience in the integrated and mini-mill segments of the U.S. steel industry and holds a degree in mechanical engineering technology from Purdue University.

Steel Dynamics expects to begin the conversion of the former Qualitech mill in the second half of this year and to begin commercial production of bar products in 2004.
